Check this section frequently for news on our Annual Walking Tour.
Every year in the fall, we host a Guided Living History Tour featuring noteworthy folks who are buried throughout our cemetery. The tour features portrayers who summarize the life of those we feature. These special events are usually followed by a small reception which allows you the opportunity to meet the portrayers and mingle with our staff.
Tickets sell quickly! Tours are advertised in the Poughkeepsie Journal and announced on our Facebook page.

A Walking Tour of the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery
Take an unguided walking tour through our beautifully manicured grounds. We have created a scenic tour of the grave sites of some of the more notable people who have been laid to rest here. You can download the tour map and information on each stop of the tour here. To view and download the Walking Tour you will need Adobe Reader. If you don’t already have Adobe Reader you can download it for free here.
The tour begins at the main gate and then proceeds up the main driveway, stopping at the Trolley Waiting Shelter on the right and the Gate House and the Office on the left until you reach the Sundial.
